Hi, I’m Cole. I’ve been using art as therapy for many years, and I’m finally ready to share my unique perspective of the world.
I don’t consider myself a “creator” – I’m more of a capturer. I fill the moments of my days discovering unordinary perspectives of ordinary things.
First, something will catch my eye – the subject is often something mundane. Next, I’ll shift my position. How do I normally experience this object? How might this object be experienced as something new? Finally, I’ll dial in my settings to balance the brightness between light and darkness, the focal length between foreground and background, and I’ll look through the viewfinder. The final decision becomes the composition of the subject within the frame. Snap.
The act of framing a unique shot through my viewfinder is where I get my satisfaction, but it’s occurred to me that my photographs can provide a different type of healing to others. Browse my portfolio, and please contact me about anything you find or feel.
Curious about my gear? My shots are captured across three cameras: Pentax K1000 (35mm film), Mamiya 645 (120 film), and Fujifilm X-T30ii (digital).
